Are You Grumpy?

For reasons unbeknownst to me, our daughter will sometimes blurt out, "I'm grumpy!" and often follow that statement with "...and I'm trouble too!" Since the child truly forgets NOTHING, I'm sure one of us (I'll pretend it was a grandparent) said this to her. If you say something to her once, it will be a part of her non-contextual 2 year old lexicon forever and always.

Sometimes when I suggest that she's grumpy, she replies with a "No Mommy...You grumpy!" I see she's already learned her parent's favorite argument tactic. The famous "Turn It Around"...I don't have the problem, YOU have the problem!

Maybe my problem is that I dumped the "fresh new musical boyfriend" for a nerdy woodworker. Probably not!
